Mulmur
Mono
The Town of Mono is situated in south-central Ontario, Canada, at the south-east corner of County of Dufferin, just north of Caledon and northeast of Orangeville. Mono is a rural community in both geography and character. It has a great deal of change in the topography, being composed mostly of rolling, tree-covered hills. It holds many streams and creeks which form the headwaters of three rivers – the Humber River, Nottawasaga River and Credit River and most of the town is located on highland relative to the rest of Southern Ontario. This leads to its current slogan of ‘the heart of the headwaters’.
Mono’s residents live on farms, rural estates and in small settlements. Mono Centre, Hockley Village and Camilla are just some of the small communities which exist within the Town of Mono.
Mono’s population represents many different backgrounds, including the farming community, local businesses, numerous artists and artisans, commuters to neighbouring towns and cities, and weekend escapees from the urban bustle.
Hockley Valley
Hockley Valley, located within the township of Mono, Ontario, is home to the Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Reserve, located on the Niagara Escarpment. It attracts countless outdoor enthusiasts who come to its hills for a variety of sports in a beautiful natural setting. The Bruce Trail runs through this Reserve, offering several scenic loop trails, though only hiking and cross-country skiing are allowed in certain areas. World-class golf, skiing and spa experiences are favourites at the famed Hockley Valley Resort.
Hockley Valley offers a mixture of upscale country homes, hobby farm properties and luxury rural escapes. Perfect for those seeking space, privacy, luxury, and a close-knit community.
Stouville
Located roughly 50km north of Downtown Toronto, Stouffville, Ontario, is a thriving municipality of the Greater Toronto Area. Its fitting motto is “country close to city” and spans 206 km² on the environmentally delicate Oak Ridges Moraine. Only a short drive from the city, Stouffville proper is the largest community surrounded by quaint villages and rural areas with parks and family-oriented neighbourhoods, with a warm small-town feel.
Schomberg
Schomberg is a village in northwestern King, Ontario, Canada. Situated north of the Oak Ridges Moraine and south of the Holland River, the village is surrounded by natural attractions. Schomberg is accessed via Highway 9, which links Orangeville and Newmarket; via Highway 27 linking Barrie and Toronto; and the Lloydtown-Aurora Road. Its main street is York Regional Road 76, a graceful, curved avenue separate from the local major highways.
In addition to the friendly community atmosphere, the village plays host to several activities throughout the year. An annual tradition is the Schomberg Fair, first held in 1851. It is an agricultural fair featuring a variety of events and activities. It is held every year on the last weekend in May. A more recent annual tradition is Main Street Christmas. This is held one evening in December, during which people celebrate the holiday season by listening to carols, going on hay rides, and viewing ice sculptures, among other things.
Aurora
Aurora is a vibrant town about 1 hour north of Toronto. Families are attracted to the area for its high-quality schools, safe environment and its location close to nature and yet within an hour of Toronto. Some hidden gems in Aurora are its 62 parks encompassing over 800 acres, which offer a variety of amenities like splash pads, tennis courts, soccer pitches, and more. Aurora is also home to some of Canada’s top-rated golf courses, including Magna Golf & Beacon Hall and is home to both St. Andrew’s College and St. Anne’s School.
King
King Township lies to the east of Caledon, and municipally has a very similar structure. It has a rich history of settlement by the English and the United Empire Loyalists and Quakers from the south. There are many centuries-old homes in the area, restored and still in use. The hamlets, villages and towns within the Township reflect the charm and history of yesterday while being within commuting distance of Toronto and all the attractions of a world-class city directly to the south. King has many small lakes, rivers and streams, large agricultural areas, and rich woodlands. The hills are gently rolling. Client Reviews
We have bought and sold a few properties with Moffat Dunlap. Both John and Liz are extremely knowledgeable and diligent on all the intricacies related to country properties. We highly recommend them for their professionalism and expertise.
Lindsay Sutcliffe
We are extremely happy with our decision to work with John Dunlap. John was a tremendous asset to our family as we purchased a farm and, sold our previous place as well. John is extremely knowledgeable about the areas in which he works and the people and players involved; he was excellent on strategy and navigating unique situations and properties; and above all else, John struck a great balance of being very patient with us, and yet being quick to move when we needed to. We would highly recommend John to anyone looking for a property in the country.

Moffat Dunlap Real Estate has been the listing agency of our familiy’s for over 50 years. They have handled both the purchase and sales of a number of properties on our behalf, They are very knowedgeable and professional and handle every transaction the exact same – whether it be a very large sale or a small house in town. They are highly respected within the equestrian community and we would very much recommend them for both purchasing and selling of any properties.
